Your body uses white blood cells to fight off the bacteria and viruses that invade your body and make you sick. We need white blood cells to fight infections!!!

The white cell is attracted to the bacteria because proteins called antibodies have marked the bacteria for destruction. These antibodies are specific for disease causing bacteria and viruses.

 

White blood cells are produced and derived from multipotent cells in the bone marrow known as hematopoietic stem cells. Leukocytes are found throughout the body including the blood and lymphatic system.
